International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed at Ngoenga School

On 3rd December 2012, International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at Ngoenga School for Tibetan children with special needs.

The program started from 9 am and the chief guest was the Honorable Health Kalon of the Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Tsering Wangchuk. Other prominent figures invited for the programme are Mrs. Namgyal lhamo Taklha (former Director of the Ngoenga School ) , Tenzin Lhundup The Chief Justice Commissioner of Tibetan justice local commission, Northern India. Mr. Thinley Jigme the welfare officer of Dehradun Tibetan settlement and other dignitaries.

 The programme began with Tibetan and Indian National Anthem and then a minute was silently observed to pay respect and homage to the martyrs who have self immolated

for cause of Tibetan freedom movement. After that, the school director Mr. Karma Dhargyal briefed the major activities and some of achievements of the school accomplished within a span of one year. He narrated on the some of the surgical corrections that our students would be undergoing soon. The Honorable Health Kalon inaugurated the first official website of the school and handed over the new motor wheel chair to Tenzin Khedup, sponsored by a AET, French, through French physiotherapist volunteer Nathalie Dalmayiac. After that school staffs presented a song dedicating to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and numbers of songs were performed by students. Game activities were played between our students and students from Sambhota School, Dekyiling. The morning program ended around 12 Noon and then guest were escorted to outdoor lunch arranged in the midst of green lawn of the school.

Immediately after the lunch, Honorable Health Kalon went for an inspection and discuss future construction and renovation project in the school campus with the Director.
