The school’s health section oversees the health and well-being of all the students. The school nurse manages the children’s daily medications, which span from early morning to late at night and encompass both Tibetan and allopathic medicine. The nurse delivers basic medical services such as minor dressing/first aid and also engages in disease prevention and promotion of health. Children requiring further treatment are referred to adjacent healthcare centers or hospitals.
The nurse also organizes frequent personal health checkups by inviting doctors to the school. During these visits, each student’s health is carefully evaluated, and their health records are reviewed to ensure optimal and tailored therapy based on their specific needs.
Vulnerable students receive nutritional supplements to boost their immune systems and improve their general well-being. Through the host government and the Department of Health, the school also undertakes vaccination drives to help prevent infections. A key accomplishment was the successful administration of the HPV vaccine to 19 students at the school in 2025.
