Nobel Peace Prize Day Celebration

Dehradun: On the 10th of December, 2022 Ngoenga School celebrated the 33rd Nobel Peace Prize Day with the entire staff and children. The function started with the offering of a butter lamp and white scarf (Khatak) to the portrait of H.H. the Great 14th Dalai Lama followed by the Tibetan and Indian National Anthem. After that, the school Director Mrs. Tashi Kunzom gave a short speech relating to the occasion.

The program continued with 30-40 minutes of prayer (Rabjam Gyalwa) for the long life of H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama. Tibetan butter tea and sweet rice (Day-se) were served as refreshment to all the children and staff at the school auditorium. After that, the Children performed a group culture song and dance. The program ended with a Thank You speech by Headmaster Nyima. All the students and staff were served special vegetarian lunch.

The day-long program concluded with a basket tournament within the staff and tug-of war between the foster mother and teachers.
